The Lazio region is located in central Italy and includes the city of Rome. With the hacker attack, the Corona vaccination portal is also down. The attack took place via the PC of an employee of an IT company belonging to the region. Later, a leading Italian newspaper wrote that the attack on the region was related to an attack on an external IT service provider, which was denied by the external service provider.

Affected is the Agenzia Regionale di Sanità (ARS) della Toscana in Florence. Only epidemiological and statistical data that can be restored from backups were encrypted.
